{"id":839,"date":"2020-04-16T13:11:10","date_gmt":"2020-04-16T13:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.trans.zhdk.ch\/boundarywork\/?p=839"},"modified":"2020-07-29T09:06:50","modified_gmt":"2020-07-29T09:06:50","slug":"sociocracy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.mtr.zhdk.ch\/boundarywork\/sociocracy\/","title":{"rendered":"Sociocracy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Some gathered information about sociocracy \u2013 I think the concept it is very well suitable for transdisciplinary work \/ teams and is strongly related to <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mtr.zhdk.ch\/boundarywork\/hybrid-fora\/\">hybrid fora<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is Sociocracy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A social ideal that values equality and the rights of people to determine the conditions under which they live and work, and <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An effective method of organizing associations, businesses, and governments, large and small.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Consent Is Required for Policy Decisions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consent means&nbsp;\u201cno objections.\u201d Giving consent does not mean unanimity, agreement, or even endorsement. Decisions are made to guide actions.&nbsp;Can we move forward if we make this decision? Consent&nbsp;is given in the context of moving forward. Consent to a policy&nbsp;decision means you believe that it is \u201cworth trying.\u201d&nbsp; Or \u201cI can work with it.\u201d Moving forward is important for making better decisions because it provides more information. Not moving forward until a perfect decision is found, means operating in the blind. Information will always be limited to what is already known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consent is required for all policy decisions for many reasons. The two most important are that it ensures (1) the decision will allow&nbsp;all members of the group to participate or produce without feeling oppressed, and (2) it will be supported by everyone. Everyone is expected to participate in the reasoning behind the decision.
