teleportation (Star Trek)

teleportation 2 (STar Trek)

DESCRIPTION: The idea of teleportation is to transform matter into energy, beam the energy with light speed to another site and than to retransform the energy into matter. Teleportations has been used in many (science) fictions (cf. the list on Wikipedia). In Star Trek the transporter effect became associated with the catchphrase “Beam me up, Scotty“.
I find it interesting to associate synchrony with actual traveling in light speed between two sites. What is the difference between the two and what does this change?
